My art practice is grounded in a deep desire to build and understand connections—between myself, my community, and the environments I inhabit. Working in ceramics, I use clay as both a physical and emotional medium, a way to process lived experiences and reflect on different moments in my life. Each piece becomes a kind of record, tied to specific people, places, and memories that continue to shape who I am.

In my work, I intentionally incorporate local clays and rocks, embedding the physical landscape directly into the object. This material choice invites viewers to consider their own relationship to place and to reflect on the ways we both influence and are influenced by our surroundings. I often allow the materials to guide the surface and finish, embracing their raw, natural qualities as a way to honor the long history of ceramics and its origins in the earth. Through this process, I explore the intersection of personal experience, community, and environment.

My forms and surface motifs draw from shared human experiences, creating points of familiarity and connection. I also reference elements of folk pottery, linking my work to broader ceramic traditions and collective histories. In doing so, I aim to create pieces that feel both personal and communal objects that hold individual meaning while also speaking to a shared sense of place, memory, and humanity.
